Catching up again

What have I been up to lately?
Here is a photo diary of the last month and a half.

We took the kids to the Birmingham Temple. They stayed in the waiting area with my friend while we went through a session. Later we went out to eat at a real restaurant. We don't do this often as evidenced by Leah's comment after the waiter took our order. She asked, "Mom aren't we going to pay for the food?"

Luke's first week of preschool.

I found this in Grandma Hazel's linen closet. If you recognize it, you have to comment about a memory it evokes!

I took this photo in the hope that I could show it to Grandma later as proof that her parents have been dead for a long time. The poor woman relives her parent's death almost daily. This day she had me drive around the cemetery twice looking for fresh graves because she was convinced that they were just buried.

The last weekend in January I went with the young women and young men on a "Return to Virtue" hike. They also repelled about 100 ft down between this rock bridge and the cliff. I did not repel.

The next two weeks I spent baking 51 dozen treats for our Valentine's Day fundraiser. I am so glad that is over!
This is our silly cat who wants to drink out of all of our faucets instead of her bowl. If you look closely you can see the water on its way into her mouth. Is that a cool action shot or what? By the way, you can tell by the sink that I have not been spending my time clean the bathroom. Gross!

The following are pictures from last Sunday. We awoke to snow and church cancellation. It was a very peaceful, slow paced day. I usually don't have time for fun pancakes. The kids really enjoyed these.

The next two pictures are four days after the snow fall. It was 73 degrees today.

Yes, there are ten children in my backyard. Yes, this is pretty normal. The strange thing is that only my four children live on our street. The others just sort of show up.

Luke getting a breathing treatment at the doctors office yesterday. Should I be concerned that the nurse practitioner said "I wouldn't go and buy a nebulizer yet. Just rent or borrow one for now.

woah, you've had a busy month and a half! We got the surprise snow too and then today it was 78. Pretty nice when it happens like that. You can enjoy it and then it melts before it becomes annoying!
Our cat likes to lick up the shower floor or the bathtub drain. Glad he's not the only one drawn to plumbing fixtures.

I seem to remember the paattern on the some sheets that mom and dad had years ago. Or, very well still own, I hope not but maybe.

No, they weren't pillow cases! They were sheets. We never had matching sets. At least that I can remember!

I wish Laura would comment on the pillow case photo. I think I remember sheets and pillow cases, but I'm not entirely sure we had the sheets. It may have been that we had the sheets, but they were for a twin bed and not army bunk beds.

Geez, give me some time people! I have a life you know and can't (always) spend my time surfing blogs... things to do, people to see.

The sheets AND pillowcases. I remember them well. It looks like Grandma Hazel's stood up better than ours did. Probably something to do with not having 6 kids!
I remember them from the Wallingford house. (is it weid that we say it that way?)
I have a faint memory of them hanging in the window as makeshift curtains in the bedroom at the top of the stairs. BUT I do remember using them as sheets on my bed, pillowcase and all.
What is funny is that I found a set of sheets when I went off to college that had a blue and green floral pattern. I LOVED them and they reminded me of the old ones when I was a kid.
